Is There Such a Thing as Prepared South Beach Diet Food?

Like other diets, prepared South Beach Diet food is available for dieters. There is an array of healthy food options that have been approved by South Beach dietitians. The South Beach Diet stresses natural foods and encourages users to avoid processed meals. Besides sugar and processed foods, the diet’s creators also suggest avoiding fried pre-prepared foods such as chicken tenders or fish patties. Why? These prepared dinners tend to have high fat content as well as loads of carbs. These bad carbs and fats are to be strictly avoided on the South Beach Diet, particularly in phase 1. In fact, most articles out there advise new South Beach dieters to trash all of their frozen dinners entirely! Is the problem really food that is prepared? South Beach Diet food does usually consist of fresh vegetables and whole grains.

A Compromise: Frozen Healthy Food

Nevertheless, food manufacturers and doctors are well aware that few people today have time to count calories for every meal. Most people live fast-paced lives today and they’re lucky to eat a full frozen dinner if anything! Enter the low-carb diet category, which promises to make dieting easier. The South Beach Diet is considered a form of a low-carb diet, but slightly altered. Its creators insist it is a good carb, good fat type of diet.

The fact that the South Beach Diet and most convenience foods clash is not lost on the food processing industry, nor the medical and health industry. This is why there have been multiple collaborations on healthier frozen foods, often nicknamed prepared South Beach Diet food. One of the most prominent companies making healthy foods for dieters is Kraft Foods. The company conducted a study on the South Beach Diet in 2005 and showed favorable results. This prompted the company to release its own line of frozen South Beach prepared food.

What Are Some Examples of Prepared South Beach Foods?

What are some examples of this line of frozen health food? South Beach snacks include single portion pouches of oatmeal cookies, chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter and whole wheat crackers. These snacks contain just 100 calories per serving. Full dinners include the South Beach Diet frozen pizza dinner, the grilled chicken dinner, and the South Beach Diet wrap. There are prepared food cereals (which are lightly sweetened) and cereal bars. The meal replacement bars of the same line are ideal for dieters that are on the go and crave sweet snacks throughout the day. These bars have high protein and fiber and 23 vitamins and minerals. None of the food in this food line contains trans-fat.

Does prepared South Beach Diet food really work? Some users try to avoid these prepared dinners, stating that the processed packages have lots of sugar, sucralose, fat and unnecessary additives, whereas fresh food does not. However, other dieters who don’t have time to make fresh meals everyday are thankful that there are prepared foods made with a minimal amount of processed ingredients.

Talk to your doctor about the best weight loss plan for you. If you decide that the South Beach Diet is manageable, look for prepared South Beach Diet food and look up the ingredients so you can make an educated decision.
